The Juneteenth Food Bank Robbery

by "She who Walks the Wind" Megan Choctaw

*The lowdown*
Scorpia shouted to her agents, “Hay comida adentro. ¡Consigue las bolsas en el camión!”
The Terror Inc. agents jumped off the back of the truck that brought them and jogged toward the small warehouse.
A middle-aged black man in a suit walked up to her, “Is there something I can do to help you all?”
Scorpia blatantly sized him up. “Depends. Who are you?”
The man stood up a little, “Reverend Addams. This is my ministry.”
The costumed woman nodded slowly and smiled. “Thank you for storing our supplies for us. We're claiming it now.”
The reverend tried not to scowl, “No one told me about this. That food is for the poor people here.”
Scorpia placed a tender hand on his chest. “We have out own shortages in the southwest. We are claiming our property. It would be best for you not to get in our way.”
Addams looked at her piercing eyes a moment before handing her keys, “You'll need these.” then retreating back to inform his volunteers.
“They can't do that.” blurted Megan. The other volunteers then all stared at her as though she had broken some rule by speaking.
“We will wait and see what they leave before we lockup.” The minister commanded.
Megan scoffed loudly. “I'm out of here then.”
The man that had told Megan about this place said, “Sorry, Rev. She's new.” As Megan walked off.
Megan watched the Latin men in black walk up to the building. The caped bitch was waving something at them as she walked up as well. There was a creek behind the building and an empty meadow beyond that. Megan glanced back at the ineffectual volunteers as an idea formed.
Megan jogged toward he meadow and then turned to the back of the warehouse when she couldn't see anyone any longer. She peeked in a small window in the warehouse wall and saw the massive piles of canned goods inside. The door was not open yet.
She disappeared in a puff of pink and reappeared in more pink dust just inside the the six inch window she'd been peering through. Megan then took a deep breath and looked out the window at the meadow as she laid a hand on one of the crates of cans wrapped in plastic. Calming her mind, she pictured the crate in the meadow. It disappeared in a pink puff of dusty smoke.
The meadow was still empty.
There was a loud thump outside followed by a woman cursing in Spanish. Then several men could be heard clamoring.
Megan cursed under her own breath and tried again on another crate. This one disappeared as well, causing another thud outside. “Dammit, your supposed to go over THERE!” She whispered to herself as she looked at the meadow angrily.
“¡Encuentra las llaves, tontos!” Someone yelled from outside.
Megan grinned wickedly as another idea came to mind.
“Is this some sort of miracle?” someone asked the Reverend.
Various puffs of pink were appearing over the thieves' heads pitching crates at them from different angles.
“Weirdest miracle I ever saw.” was his response.
After the general surprise wore off, Scorpia and her agents were blocking the heavy crates. She also sliced one open as she prevented it from hitting her head again.
Crates were soon also appearing over the metal roof and landing on it with loud bangs.
“It's raining food!” Smiled a younger volunteer. “More like hail” Said another.
Once the warehouse was only half as full as before, Megan decided it was time to go. She felt rather accomplished at hearing the noises outside. Peering through the small window, she watched the meadow a moment before appearing on the far side of it in a puff of her signature pink smoke. She let herself smile back at the bullies before waking away.
“¡Olvida las llaves! Toma esto.” Scorpia finally yelled.
They grabbed the crates that had attacked them and loaded them on the truck, filling it less than a third of the way.
Scorpia looked angry as she told the Reverend. “This will be reported. Whoever is responsible will be ..” She smirked coldly, “Punished.” Then they drove away.

======Actual Journal Entry========
June 19, 2020
Had a funny Juneteenth! Stopped a robbery, I think.
I was going to volunteer at this food bank but some Spanish mob led by a white bitch tried to steal food from the church. I was able to stop it and get some target practice. I don't think anyone saw me either!
Felt better than serving folks creamed corn, even if I didn't get any of my own.
