Faliures and potions

by Hildar Stormchild

After much discussion, we still had not made a headway on our prisoners decision when a strange floating man and his powerful elven friend appeared in the grove. I tried to stand in his way, but nothing I could do stopped him. Fortunately they left again without too much effect, their visit only serving to persuade us to free the fey, mister, in an act of spite. Kauri says this intangible form is the werewolf we're supposed to kill, and so I suppose we failed the goblins. Well, at least I'm consistant in disapointing tribes.
After a small tustle with frald, during which he tries to drown me again, we leave and head back to Fandalva with a rucksack full of magical water. George and frald spent the week making strange potions of healing from the leaves I picked and kept fresh, and let me know that I'd "have my share" despite refusing to pay me for the leaves. I shall drink them when I starve, as I run low on gold and know not when we will return to the garrison that sent us to collect our pay. I probably can't sell them, they were a gift after all, and frald seems very keen I shall be healed. I'm not sure where I should stand on healing, of course I want to keep going, but it seems a bit... unnatural. I will have to hope my connection to the everstorm is not polluted by this fate-denial.
I was not completely idle in our week, as I met and befriended a magic user called Jane. She seems very enthusiastic to learn, which gave me an excellent oppertunity to reminice about home. Oh damn, I sound so old, I'm starting to sound like frald with all his stories. I also tried to talk to Kauri about the everstorm, but she doesn't listen. All of them seem to find my ways unnatural and undruidic. I guess it's not their fault, I don't fit into this land, but I'm never letting go of our ways, or our beliefs.
After a week, the goblins returned, as promised. And of course we had to tell them we had nowhere for them to go. Fortunately Mel, with his endlessly innovative mind, revealed he knew somewhere up north where they could live unharrassed. We'd be a lot further behind in our tasks if we didn't have his quiet help, I have to admit.
As not all the goblins were coming with us, I went to warn Jane of the potential danger, and she begged to come with us. None of the rest of the party obejected, so I guess we have an enthusiastic travelling companion. We set of north, towards some mountains. Maybe I'll have better luck there.
