Okay. Met some new folks. Probably the tenderest of hearts I’ve ever come across. Children included. I don’t understand how people like this exist. Their spirits are strong; they stick together even when thrust into situations they have no business being involved in. Like they even had a choice. I came here to protect my pack. Have I found another one?
 
Definitely not the first time I’ve wondered that. Probably won't be the last either.

I found myself in an all too familiar position today. It wasn’t the same. I know that. But it felt like it was and… fuck I hated it. I knew Vex was going to tell them tonight. I had no idea it was going to feel that way. I hope I kept it together. I think I did.

It’s easier for me to think that having it all out in the open is more for their benefit than my own. That I don’t need to depend on anyone. That I’m not at the mercy of anyone else’s whim. I don’t have to trust anyone with something so deeply personal. No amount of hugging, vows, or blood can change this gods awful feeling in my gut. That it’s all a lie.
 
Spirits, she sure was amazing though. She’s been amazing all day. Confident, entrancingly fluent in every single instance she needed to be. Got me a deal with the local tanner and an exclusive arrangement for my carvings. How cool is that?
 
Oh the shifter wants me to teach them to carve. Well I don’t know that they’re a shifter, but if I had to describe one from those tales I’ve heard they’d look pretty much like Scout. I can tell they’re afraid of their beast. I don’t know why I’ve got it in my damn head to help, they’re a shifter. I’m a lycanthrope.

And now they know. After one night. Two interrogations, a shared dream, a successful connection to the spirits (!!!!!!), one accidental kill, and a blood oath a la Vex. They’re pretty fearless when it really comes to it. I already like all of them, together as a whole and individually too. I want to believe them. I really do.
 
Hawks. They can teleport and the Queen has all of them in her personal service. All of them. What a lead, I can’t believe I got so lucky. I already have the beginning of a plan, but I need to scout the place first.
 
This group is exceptionally talented. Do I dare get them involved? They’ve already been put through so much. I don’t know what I can really do for them, but at the very least I will treat them as my own and protect them as such until they demand otherwise.

Oh and Suki is a thief and a damn good one. Struggles with boundaries and plays games. Not as innocent as she seems. Makes me wary, has nothing to do with kitsune stuff. Rosilla is actually named Tiatha. Cool elf ears. Turns into spiders. Has a deep connection with nature that I can feel in my bones and a pure spirit to go with it. There's more to see from that one. Wizard guy sucks; likely from Alion and probably a warlock. Gonna steal his shit and blow up the tower. AND FUCK SCRYING. Tatharel I swear to gods if you've been scrying on me I'm claiming your eyeballs as forfeit. Shark is the link to Red. Ship fight? Gods I hope not. Ill-born came to Scarlets. Why? Connected to Mother? Is that the loose link with the wizard too? Why here? What's so special about Astoria? Dellorin and Talise are gone. They were my ticket, no longer viable. Philippa (Faye) thinks she's a runner but she's not. She's a fighter. Hasn't learned that sometimes running IS fighting. She will. Mixed up with drugs. I'm being open with Vex about it but there's something different about her demeanor now. Anger. Worries me. Maybe I shouldn't have told her about Phi. Anyways. Rina. Does fire. Dragon like Gasa. GASA IS BACK!!!! Big things come in small packages. Gave me a wand to do fire too. That'll be fun. Needs a staff. I want her to burn some of the wood into a marble pattern so when I carve the staff out it'll have swirling designs of burnt wood in it. That combined with her ideas and Vex's jewel crafting, it'll be a remarkable piece. I think that's it. Okay.
