Jackalware

by Hildar Stormchild

So we set off looking for this werewolf, and found these strange monsters. They were corrupted, in a different way to the animals from near the rift, and seemingly oblivious to mundane injuries. I swear, the more I learn about this world the more bafflimg it all is, although there is a stange comfort I find in the brokenness of the form of the fey creatures. I'm definitely less of a fan of fey landsacpes though!

We also met a strange, grey-faced man called George, who plays with magic in a way I'd never seen before. His oddness draws me to trust him, although my head tells me otherwise. We shall have to see, as we are becoming quite close in our little quest. It's good company.

This dwarven fellow, Frald, is interesting. He seems friendly and good-hearted, if a little sentimental, and it's almost enough to distract me from his worship of Diancecht. I know it's unfair but every time I see that symbol I remember Sari talking as we rode along beautiful trails, and I miss her again. Perhaps I should apologise for my outburst, although I have a feeling my explanation would be seen as unreasonable; after all his talk on weddings I think he has a very different view on the subject.
