Body Features
Ryss (as he prefers to be called) is reminiscent of most Chiss, with defined features, blue-gray skin, and orb-like red eyes. Where he deviates is his nose, which is no longer straight and true like most Chiss, instead slightly bigger at the tip due to a break in his youth. He also sports a scar near his right eye, which he claims came from a vibroknife (he adamantly refuses to tell how it came to pass). He often wears his black hair long, done up in a rat-tail or braided off to the side.

Personal history
Ryss’ father had been in the employ of the Ascendency, working as a middle rank officer aboard a patrol frigate. He was exiled out of Chiss space, that much Ryss knew - however his father was quiet on the matter and never saw fit to tell him why. After his exile, he brought himself and his wife, Ryss’ mother, to Sith space. Ryss, being born in the Empire, was really only Chiss in his biology and his somewhat lacking vocabulary of Cheunh. His education was Imperial, his friends were human, and later his career as an Imperial marine brought him even farther away from the only other Chiss he knew, thus for all intents and purposes, Ryss was an Imperial with blue skin. Of course, this did lead to prejudice towards himself among the more traditional Imperials, but his devotion to the Empire and what he thought it stood for (plus his “winning” personality) put most of those prejudices to rest among his friends and acquaintances.
After his training, he was assigned to a patrol group near the Tion Cluster, working to clamp down on pirate activity in the region. Then, everything took a turn for the worst when a Sith Lord by the name of Varguus commandeered the patrol group to ferry him around on some errand. His mission was not important to Ryss, but things became a lot more serious when one day, Ryss was summoned from the bridge to Varguus’ temporary quarters aboard the Swift Justice. Ryss remembered little else other than being questioned some by the lord, than being assaulted without warning or pause. The last thing he remembered was expending a wild, uncontrolled burst of energy through the very air. He would later find out that the Sith was testing him, though that fact never did give Ryss cause to forgive the man.
Ryss didn’t like the Sith. They were the festering rot covering the shining society that the Empire could be. But he swallowed his disdain and his fears the second he stepped off the shuttle onto the Red World, Korriban. He would not be subject to their tyranny. He would elevate himself in their ranks, use the power they so willingly put within his grasp to serve the Empire - not the Sith and their decadent infighting and power schemes.
After completing his training and trials on Korriban, Ryss was approached by Lord Srithe. Ryss would later discover the daunting years Srithe had lived through, but upon meeting, Ryss saw but only another pureblood, likely to harbor the same ill-conceptions of him. This was not the case. The Lord was the head of military operations for a Sith house (something Ryss wasn’t too well caught up on, the politics of the Sith world having no appeal to him). Ryss supposed that the Lord sought someone with the same sense of militarism, but all the same he underwent training as an apprentice to Lord Srithe, trained in both martial skill and tactics.
In the final year of Ryss’ service to the lord, however, Srithe was forced into retirement by the ambitions of his son, Lord Xorn-Syth. Ryss didn’t presume to retaliate on his master’s behalf, for it was resolved peacefully in the end. Ending his training, Ryss wasted no time in befriending and arranging acquaintance with many Imperial personnel, largely consisting of low to middle ranking officers in the Navy. This was both because of his former residence in their service, thus naturally wanting to keep the bond, and a calculated power move. High Ranking officers were all well and good, but they would be replaced in due time. However, the ones in Ryss’ circle were young, showing promise, and thus candidates for higher positions in the future. And who would they look to in partial thanks for their success? Why, their friend and Sith benefactor, Ryss himself.
Ryss also put time into mellowing his relations with as many Sith as he could - not in any show of friendship, at least not in any case. No, he didn’t want anyone on his back as he built his place among the Raptors and the Sith.
Present
In recent years, Ryss has found himself with a pool of military contacts, and has been using his time (either on order or of his own accord) dealing with outer-territory problems such as pirates or the occasional rogue Sith. It has been several months since he has been keeping tabs on inter-house relations, and he hasn’t come into contact with any Sith other than by comm-link - far too busy with his own miniature crusade on the edge systems.
