The Chronicles of Pigsong have begun...

by Pigsong

Well ya know it's been a rough go so far in my life, but that's no bother. Tings are gonna get much better they will. I just knows it. I figure it's about bloody time I start recording all the epic tales, heroic deeds and funny moments of my life. That way... if I should happen to perish, at least someone may find me journal, have a good read and turn it into a best selling novel. So let see how the last two months have been, shall we?

I'll keep things brief... started off I was on a treasure hunt out on the island of Kroll near a town of Greyhollow. I didn't quite know if the map was legit, but I was willing to take a chance, if not just for the adventure of it all eh? This Greyhollow town was a bit of a dump, to be honest, but that's fine even good tings can be found in ugly things. Right away I knew the weather wasn't gonna be cooperating with me. The cold bitter rain was coming down pretty hard, so I figured I best get some proper gear from some of da locals. After a few pints, a bit of chit chat and picking up some warm clothes and a nice tent I was on my way.

The first day of hiking the ground was all gone to shit so it wasn't fun, but it got a lot better when I gotta try out me new tent that night. What a blessing such a simple can bring eh? The next day I was off again until I came across a large trap of some kind, I was able to put two n' two together when I heard the howling of wolves in the distance. Don't like that. Nope, not one bit. I best be keeping my wits about me. I made it to dusk and set up the tent again, but before I could settle down in the ting, a big ole' Giant Bat swooped down tearing da sweet Jeebus out of it. That really pissed me off that did. I armed myself with a speed the likes of which that bat has never seen before, I grant you that I do. Within seconds I dispatched that great beast and took his fang as a keepsake. Sure he got a few licks in, but ain't nothing a few healing spells and a good nights sleep could shake off. Speaking of which my freakin' tent is gone to shit. After a few minutes, I found a decent place nearby to use the ripped tent as a partial shelter amongst the trees. Not the best nights sleep I ever had, but at least it wasn't the worst.

Here I was on the third day of travel going about my treasure hunting like ya would. When the two sons a bitches, Joshua and Miguel stepped out from the wilds and said they knew I was here looking for treasure and they wanted me map. See little did they know they underestimated me they did. I pretended I was gonna give up, acting like a defenseless little Goblin. But when they lowered their guard I whipped out me two crossbows and let him have it! They weren't long before they fell face first in the cold mud with a few bolts sticking out of em.

I searched a broken wagon in the middle of bloody nowhere and my expert investigatory skills could detect something had been dragged away from this wagon. However, before I could figure it all out a pack worgs were creeping up on me. I figured they smelt the two bodies of the idiots I killed not long ago. My instict was to climb a tree and get away from those nasties, being so outnumbered and all. However, the brittle stupid branch broke under me weight. So that was that the race was on, I had to get away from these flesh craving beasts so I ran as fast as me little green ones could take me.

The worgs were gonna catch me, I knew they would. It was just a matter of time. So that is when I came up with a most genius idea. I conjured up a little of that magic I learned a long time ago and created an illusion of a grizzly bear. It served long enough to buy me some time to get away by hiding down over the edge of a cliff. As I sad there I wondered to myself, why am I so good.

I waited for the worgs to be long before I made it to where the treasure map said to. However, it seems I was too late, the treasure was there, but is not gone. I took a moment to let it all sink in and that is when a ginger hair man named Barbaross found me. Saying he had a letter for me. Turns out he was sent to find me to hire me for a job. Paid well too, 300 gold coins up front. I thought to myself... sweet Jeebus that's good money, but I didn't let the ginger know that. I told Barb... see that's what I calls him, not sure if he likes it... but I said to Barb I'd go with him after I finish following the tracks of the people who took the treasure. So the guy agreed to tag along.

We made out, following the tracks to a small little village, not much to it. Don't have a sweep flying frig why it was out in the middle of nowhere... but that was beside the point. I saw the treasure right there in front of us, by a fountain. However, the first sign of danger was the pair of bodies next to it. Looks like something had killed him it had. I took an extra moment to size up the surroundings before noticing the cause of those two poor men. A freakin' ghost woman wearing a long dark dress was floating around the village. Seems she probably killed everyone who lives here would be my guess. A Banshee I think they be called. Barbarossa tells me that ghost can let out a scream that can kill a man where they stand. We debated back and forth, I wanted to go in... who knows what's in that chest. But I had to be a good leader for this duo and keep my party safe. I figure I'll come back another time to get this, but for now, my services are needed elsewhere.

We traveled back to Greyhollow, and then rowed out to the Fairfox. A fine looking ship it is. That is where Barbarossa introduced me to Captain Barakas. The one who was need of my specialties. Where this ship will take me who knows, but I'm sure it'll be great.
