Session 003 Northern Troglodyte Exterminator Report

General Summary

While the party was discussing where to go next, a large Norseman appeared at the temple of the Oracle. Versi told him that he is her descendant, Sydon murdered her daughter before she had a son, who was his ancestor. That's why Versi has dedicated her life to the defeat of the Titans. She gave him her daughters locket & told him that she's seen that he is to travel with the Heroes of the Oracle. He swore an oath of fellowship to the party. Kyrah gave the party the four golden arrows she had promised. The party was awarded: a magical quiver similar to bag of holdings, a bag of holding, & an unbreakable arrow, for completing the first chapter of the campaign. The party agreed that the Mithral Mines was the best place to be going next. They stopped at Estoria on the way for supplies.(edited) [05:50] MyrddinEmyrs (Phil): 20 centaurs stopped them on the way warning of Troglodytes, who had kidnapped two of their members. They offered a reward if they brought word of their fate. Giving them a horn that when sounded would summon them. They offered a reward & offered hope for them to see things Sydon’s way. Coming to the falls Oren flew around in joy. The party found that the main entrance was caved in & they found a secret path that winded down the falls. They saw 4 Troglodytes fishing & convinced them to seek Centaurs to eat. They left.(edited) [06:13] MyrddinEmyrs (Phil): The party found 4 Troglodytes near the main entrance. Seeing centaurs tracks to the south the parry went that way & fought their way through the hordes of Troglodytes.   Kyrah's mischief turned her dark blue. She needs a spell cast upon her to dispell it.   They found the centaurs: one was being roasted over a fire & the other was in a makeshift prison. The party fought several of the Underdark beasts, & rescued the centaurs, bringing the one who was being cooked alive back from the dead. The party fought several groups of Troglodytes & eventually came across a King of the Troglodytes who was depressed that his headband taught his speech & made him aware of things. He was depressed with his lot & happy that the party was there to cut his wit against. So he challenged them to a game of riddles. The party got all three riddles correct & declared that the party would make a good meal due to their intelligence.   Kyrah's mischief caused all creatures around her to change places, which separated her from the party. The party fought a hard battle, Kyrah was injured greatly.   Veronica was transformed into a chicken for a round of combat by Kyrah's magic. Veronica also went down & was revived by a natural 20 death save. Their Paladin used his lay on hands to give her hit points.   The party slaughtered all of the Troglodyte broodlings & discovered where they had come in from, a tunnel leading to the Underdark.   The party used this respite to take care of some of their wounds. Their Goddess was in poor shape after all that, though she refused all attempts to heal her.   The party searched around & discovered. That the king had a headband of intellect, & a mirhril ingot. His throne had a Mithril Breastplate & Mithril scale mail.   Detect magic was cast & didn't detect magic but a resonance in the Troglodyte shit room.   John went into the room & discovered an adamantine spear & an adamantine short sword. Oren took the sword & the Gnoll took the spear.(edited) John got the Mithril ingot, Veronika one of the mithril armors & the North man took another of the Mithril armor. Having explored all of the south of the cave system they went to the north.   Past what appeared to be a bridge, of Dwarven make, built with what appeared to be the statue of a two headed dog on the top of it.   They discovered a large pit that seemed to go off 100 feet, throwing an object with light cast upon it down the pit. They noticed that their was a doorway about 100 feet below. [06:29] MyrddinEmyrs (Phil): The party found a large three headed dog (a Cerberus) & three Death Dogs eating it. The party beat them & one had command cast upon it, telling it to jump over the chasm. The dog jumped to its apparent death past gleaming veins of silvery ore.   The parry searched the area finding silver, Dwarven skulls, & some Mithril chainmail.
