Chatper Four: Convergence

General Summary

At 5:16pm on January 27th, 2162, Sebastian, Wei and Raymond had just finished subduing two guards while murdering a third with a well aimed shot. Pete Deyes watched by as Wei and Raymond tried to remove the uniforms off the guards so everyone other than Sebastian had a disguise. One of the guards started to rouse again and despite Raymond and Sebastian's bests efforts, they had to shoot the guard down and snap his neck quickly before procurring all the uniforms, hearing someone from the other side of Upper Deck Tavern that they had shot a mountain lion to others in Mandarin. With the uniforms in hand, the four ran towards a better place to hide by the river near the Fuyao Beimei border, Sebastian ignoring the ringing of his Personal Pocket Holographic Projector (aka "Pip").
As the sky grew dark, James was settling into the decrepit hide out Scoot had provided with Lily Bjorklund, Wade Bescript, and John Echols. Soon, Scoot was back and announced he had seen the "man in charge" murder two of his own guards with a couple of other people. One of these people was one of Scoot's long time customers for contraband. Despite telling James there was nothing to worry about, he and the rest of the Snippets team seemed confused at first. Scoot said he would try to get more information and report back, leaving almost as quickly as he arrived.
After changing into the proper disguises, Sebastian tried to take Wei, Raymond and Pete with him to the border. Another guard let Sebastian know that Tao Lin was looking for Sebastian right away for a report. Sebastian led the team back into Fuyao BeiMei to reconvene and figure out a path out. Scoot, having tracked the group, offered them safe passage and to reconnect them to others trying to get out. Sebastian hoped that this would be the journalists so he could ask for forgiveness. Scoot didn't confirm and took them most of the way to his hiding place before telling them to wait.
James was frustrated that Scoot had said he was reconnecting Sebastian and the other with the Snippets team. Scoot thought he had convinced them they would be safe before bringing them over, and headed back to lead the others to the hideout. Instead James led the Snippets team away, with John suggesting they go north away from the border. Scoot returned with the rest, cursing himself that they left. After a while, he saw the tracks that the four runaways had left in the snow and followed them north toward the highway that was officially part of the United States.
As James and the Snippets team made their way toward Dayton, Ohio in hopes to finally reach a hospital for John's finger. However, John was the first to spot that a group of individuals was coming toward them down the highway, waking with sweeping flashlights. hiding in the trees on one side of the highway, Scoot looked on from the other side with Wei, Raymond, Sebastian and Pete. As Sebastian recognized one of his subordinates leading a team toward the Snippets team, he caused a distraction that pulled a couple of guards over toward him. As he resisted being detained, a huge fight ensued. James led the charge against the guards in the trees, Sebastian fought of the guards who had approached him with the help of Scoot and Raymond, and Wei bravely tackled the leader who shot at him and Sebastian. As soon as Raymond and Sebastian obtained guns from guards they put down, the fight was finally won, with one guard running away into the woods. James and Scoot had it out before Raymond brought them back to reality--some of them had taken bullets and everyone wanted to hurry away from Fuyao Beimei. After John expressed frustrations only understood by half the group, the mix of ex-pats wandered down the road.
As soon as Lily could she messaged the emergency report teams at Amazon, Incorporated. Soon a drone recorded her, John and Wade walking with the rest of the group before heading over in the direction of Fuyao Beimei. Wtihin minutes, self driving ambulances offered a ride. As the group set off, Wei relayed to his fellow ex-pats that Pete was willing to see about giving them citizenship in Delaera. All agreed that this would be better than where they came from.
All were heading to the hospital at 7:32 pm on January 27th, 2162.
