Session 12 - Blood and Bodies Report

General Summary

The city has inspections for entry/exit since the serial killing began.   Eventually making it through inspection they head into town and given the Bruised Apple as a decent inn to stay at.   The group makes their way inside and converse with Wilford Fordham and talk about his aether research. Learns that one of the Sherborne taken worked for the Grey Trading Company.   They get rooms for the group and settle in for dinner and conversation. Before going on watches, Asai and Surge have a heart-to-heart about Surge's troubles   For the evening the group sets to watch and Asai goes out exploring the town for the evening and attempts to confront a squad of Purple Lotus.   In the morning the group awakens to a disturbance in the city, people are seen rushing north with guards. The guards eventually clear out the on-lookers as Surge sneaks up on a squad of Purple Lotus to try and eavesdrop. The Purple Lotus talks about "Her being too messy and making such a mess".   After the Arcanium leaves, they investigate the body, finding it had been repeating slashed from shallow to deep cuts. The victim died within minutes. There was also reside of power illusion and evocation spells as well remnants of used scrolls found. A strange oddity that the bodies outside of the cuts were pristine, with no scars, blemishes, moles, tattoos, etc.   Afterward, the group decides to split up. Asai returning to the inn as she was exhausted from not sleeping the previous night. Surge, Stig, and Celia make their way to the Purple Lotus camp, Mirielle had to the market square looking for work and rumors, while Ewan goes searching for the warehouse.   Ewan heads the Grey Trading company and spoke with the guard out front about work. He went inside and got an application. Tried to bribe the guard unsuccessfully for a reference. Then headed back to the inn   Mirielle goes to the market square to look for work and info passing a potion charlatan and eventually finding an elderly herbalist to converse with. The herbalist gives her a job of making potions with a reward for 10g and 2 Potions of Healing   Surge, Stig, and Celia make their way to the Purple Lotus camp to see what they can uncover.
