Session 2: Where Blood May Run Report

General Summary

Arriving at the home Thoron, the group crept inside, finding a pool of blood just inside the doorway. A trail of bloody footprints and drag marks. Searching the darkened room they had Thoron body laying in a most drying pool of blood before his bookshelves. They found a key hidden within Thoron's clothing, but no obvious lock that it fits into on the first floor. Part of the group examined the body and others searched around the first floor which had already been ransacked by the killer(s).   A set of bloody footprints led upstairs away from the body. Heading upstairs, Ewan and Surge find the room has been ransacked as well, the desk, bed, and wardrobe gone through and spilled out over the room. After a thorough search of the upstairs, they find a search latch built into the back of the wardrobe that unlocks a secret door in the wall nearby. Inside they find a chest more fancy key with an "L" designed into the handle of the key, an unsealed letter from Lilathris, and a stack of missing person posters collected from smaller towns outside of Sherborne. Reading the letter Ewan discovers his mother may not be so missing after all.   With the clues they found they head back from Ewan's family home and were introduced to Alvord, in a drunken state, who argued with Ewan until Giselle finally distracted him from the fight. Being late hour, everyone decided to head find a place to crash in the house and slept till morning.   In the morning, Miriele woke early and prepared breakfast for everyone. Ewan and his sister Giselle were the first to arrive with everyone slowly following behind. During breakfast, Ewan revealed to his sister that their mother was still alive. After everyone was settled in and eating, Ewan eventually brought up breakfast to his father. He confronted him about his mother, but Alvord still had no idea where she was or if she was alive explaining to Ewan why he believes her dead. Ewan shows evidence that Lilathris still lives, shocking Alvord. Ewan then shows him the book that had been stolen and the missing pages seem to anger Alvord, but he refuses to into detail about them.   Ewan and Surge did a little shopping within the connect blacksmith shop of his father and bought a new Greatsword for Surge. While exploring around the shop, the key with the "L" on it began to move in his pocket, and when Ewan pulled it out a point of light beamed to a wall in the back of the shop. Following the light, he found a keyhole had formed in the wall and upon putting in and turning the key and door began to form. Opening the door they found a small office with a desk, a small wardrobe, and a small chest. The chest was empty and the wardrobe contained some of his mother's clothes, layered with dust as they had not been touch in years.   Inside her desk, they find a journal she had left behind and information on why she disappeared as well as a black orb. The group then decided to start reaching out to their contacts to find out any information they can about the things Lilathris was investigating.
