Session II: Seafood, Seaports, and Seasonal Trouble

General Summary

The night of arrows and fire took the party into morning, basked in sun only blemished by the smoke of the inn rising in the distance. Furthering themselves from the ruckus, they took to the shoreline where they could finally catch their breath.
As the morning dawned, the party felt their stomachs grumble and the weight of their fatigue weighing down on them. Nestled between what looked like an unnatural outcropping of rocks along the bay, they took to cooking rations and washing their bloodied gear in the cold water. Henry, slipping his clothes in, noticed a crab climb into his boot. This was met with an immediate yell and tossing the thing against a rock, killing it instantly. Instant breakfast. As the rest of the party setup camp, Liun assembled his cooking gear to help cook some thrush eggs. Spearing some fish, the seafood breakfast had gave them the energy needed to continue traveling along the main roads despite the chance of danger.
Coming across a overturned wagon on the main road, the group set to seeing if the owner was close by. Seeing the large claw marks and the questionable merchandise inside (spades, blank official papers, casks, and sheathes), they repaired the vehicle's axle and took on the persona of travelling merchants to avoid suspicion. Not long after they began to ride down the road, they came across an elderly dark elf shepherd by the name of Slyv'ann who was surprised that they had avoided the Forest of Rust to the South. Commenting on how they had found the cart without an owner and claw marks, the fellow mentioned that the Silver Eye would be close behind, being "slayeres of te most un'natural". With a kind parting and pointing them to the nearest town to the East, they continued on.
Moving slowly as the cart strained on with the quick repairs faltering, they came upon a couple of town guards blocking their path. Only admitting those with papers, the two guards were staunch in their positions. The group considered sneaking through the woods along the ridge, but rather used the blank documents to forge their identities as travelers and not merchants, almost being caught as fresh ink smeared on the hand of the one guard. Luckily, despite it all, they made it through cart and all.
Reaching the town of Aubore, they settled in to find lodging at the Harvest Hedge Inn and sustenance at the Murderous Crab Tavern. Liun made a proposition to the town blacksmith while Henry bought a new chain shirt and Winte stopped at a fishing shop called Brisby's to buy a fishing rod. As the day stretched on and the group finished their errands, they stopped for meals of veal, cabbage, pork, leeks and stouts. The herrings Winte caught during the afternoon were cooked by a skilled chef and Liun and Henry took to the bare notice board to grab the remaining jobs; a delivery to the lighthouse at the edge of the bay and a notice of a necromancer making trouble to the North-West. Passing a nightcap for betting on crab fighting, the party settled down for the night and called it a day.
