The Wastes are not a land known for peace and gentleness, but of late a kind of steadiness has settled over the dry lands. Most backstabbings between the Baronies are now of the political variety, rather than literal, as the heads of each have reached an agreement to work together for the betterment of their people.   All except one.   The Baron of Grenvale keeps to themself, letting their good, green lands lie fallow and keeping any outsiders that might instead make use of it through magical means. Couriers sent are either turned away at the border by wild-eyed and fearful locals or never return, and no Eyes sent to investigate have ever reported back to their spymasters.   Something strange is going on in Grenvale, and the Water Barons of the Wastes have decided to put an end to it, for the good of their own people and that of the scrawny locals. But things are not always what they appear, and motives are never so pure. And the Wastes are full of dangers, not only from the elements and the beasts who stalk the dusty landscape but from cutthroats, outlaws, and spies all waiting for the right time to slip a blade between your ribs.   It’s up you to brave the perils of the desert and move the last piece of the puzzle in place to bring the Wastes into an era of peace not seen since before the cataclysm that scorched the land.
