The Bronze Ring Haram Bay Part 2 Report
General Summary
After making a name for themselves, th eparty was able to get in to see Olivya Dain and found her very well guarded by two large Mocar and Rex Mooring. They spoke with her briefly, but was not able to gather much information from her. She seems very businesslike and to the point.
The Group also met Zanele, a Mocar who workes in The Rutting seeing Special Client, and also acts as an assistant to Dain. A quick conversation showed that she has connection among the Mocar, and is concerned at the way they are treated but she was also loyal to Dain.
The also met Chester Copper while betting on a fight in Chum. He was not a fan of Dain, and seemed to imply he could do a better job of running Haram Bay and had the resourced to do it. He simply didn't have the ability to challenge Dain.
The party dcided to take on another job for the local Alchemist that runs the Foundry. They were to gather Sulphur from the Sulpher Pits, which are very close to the Tar Pits, where Black figures had been seen taking Mocar. When they got there they witnisses these figures, and determined they were some type of undead. After a batlle with the creatures, they found that many of the Mocar that were forced to work the Tar Pits, dies and were thrown into the pits. This created an evil that reanimated htier bodies and caused them to seek more fuel in the form of Mocar. The players were able to cleanse the evil and end the threat of the black figures, at least for some time.
Thier fight was witnissed by Wren, the leader of the Mocar Resistece. When he question thm why they would risk thier lives for the Mocar, they convinced him they are out to do good. He then led them o a secret meeting that was going on between agents of Olivya Dain and the Sauhngin. Dain had made a deal with the Sea Devils to deliver so many slaves each month in return for the creatures leaving Hara Bay alone and working for her leading in ships. She used prisoners to fill th eorder but when there aren't enough Mocar made up the difference.
The group decided to attack Olivya agents, which included Rex Mooring on thier way back to get evidence of the deal and to take out one of Dain's top defenders. It was risky, but they managed it although it was a close battle.
They took the evidense to Zanele who was shocked that Dain would betray her people and promised to take the information to the Mocar Elders, hoping it would enrage them enough to want to fight back. It still left open the issue of what to do about the Sea Devils though, as they would no longer be held by th deal if Dain was removed from power and would be able to raid the island without check.
The party asked Wren how they were kept in check before the Dains took over the island, and he said that they were protected by the Triton, a race of sea dweliing creatures that are mortal enemies of the Saunhgin. He dosen't know what happened to them though as they have not been seen. The players remembered that there was a statue of a triton not to far from Haram Bay.
Now the group has to figure out how to deal with the Sea Devils, so they can safely remove Olivya Dain. Then get the Mocar to rebel, hopefully backing Olivya into enough of a corner they could obtain the ring, and do it while in a way that the Mocar do not suffer greatly.
