October 1877

General Summary

Antonio Bello returns to Venice in early October of 1877, he heads straight to the Library to announce himself to Seraphima. There he fills her in on recent events and she sends him off to the family villa. Meanwhile Silas has been tracking a strange Vampire through the city and has tracked him to the Bello villa.  

At Villa Bello

  The two of them sneak through the mansion looking for the intruder eventually tracking them to Antonio's study. There they find a blond vampire rooting through the desk and chucking papers into the fire. Silas tackles him but finds that he suddenly has spikes jutting out from him that poke into Silas and prevent him from getting a proper grip. Antonio recognises this Vampire as his son Anthony whom he thought dead and buried.
Anthony raves at Antonio blaming him for the things that went wrong in his life until Silas interrupts him with a shotgun blast that throws him out the window and in the process spreads the fire around the room. At the sight of the flames the two vampires freak and flee. When they come too the Bello villa is going up in flames.  

The Meeting with the Inner Circle

October 12th come around and the Vampires of Venice are called before the Inner Circle of the Camarilla, Silas is asked to prepare for a conflict to come, Antonio is told that he has bought shame on himself and his sire and must atone for his sins by killing his son. Seraphima is questioned about what she knows and about her relationship with the Assamite's and Graham Eldridge in particular. They also grant her request to have Fenalik added to the Red List. Graham had taken himself out of the city for this meeting but soon finds himself pursued and dragged against his will before them.   Outside the meeting room Silas and Antonio notice a strange smell and head down the corridor, at the end they find several Assassins, Silas warns Seraphima before engaging them. Seraphima opens up a secret portal and escapes with the Inner Circle and Graham. While Silas and Antonio are fighting with the Assassins Graham heads back to check out the outside of the building and captures a fleeing assassin. Inside Silas detects the imminent detonation of a bomb and drags Antonio to safty as part of the Doge's Palace is blown up.
