Session 11: The One That Got Away Report

General Summary

11th of Roelir Continued   After the battle, Reign escorted Galloway and the Druids back to the Mages Guild, Karl and Fargrim made sure the priests got back to their temple safely, and Lily and Lyra headed back to the inn.   12th of Roelir   Upon waking up, the party did a spit. Fargrim checked in with Neira's Sailing Song, Karl went to get new clothes, Lily and Lyra went to Éla's suppression of shadows to try and strike up a bargain. Lily and Lyra left when they were unable or unwilling to meet the demands of the temple with handing over Xeldarix as they require her for something now. Afterwards Lily and Lyra went to see Xeldarix.   The party upon regrouping were called to a meeting to discuss what the group was doing. Lyra kept watch at the door with Good. The meeting got heated as behaviours of the party was discussed. This was interrupted by Lila, an urchin Lily knew, came to the room. Lila had a small bruise given by someone who was upset she had interfered with trying to follow them to find Xeldarix.   Lily patched Lila up and gave her money for pie after asking about fairy tales. Lila didn't know any. The group then decided to go hunt the devil in the sewers.   The group went to see the church of Éla's Suppression of Shadows to see if they could get a guide for the group to go into the sewers. The priest did not seem convinced to help the group as they were unwilling to give the party anything they wanted until the church had what they wanted. The priest did say the further south they were in the sewers the more they were sent running for their lives.   The group briefly discussed what Lily and Lyra had been doing at the church earlier.   Next the group went to see Lord Galloway to talk to him about their intentions. He gave them a spare map to help them. The party decided to start at the entrance at the park. Reign used her crowbar to open the door.   Green = Entrance near killing, Red = Devil location, Blue = Party Path, Black = Mage Guild

The party reports back to Galloway, gets cleaned up before heading to see Steve at the Mage Guild. The Dean is visibly tired and awoken by the party. He invites them in to talk. He informs them of the nature of his wards on the building that someone has successfully broken once and attempted to the previous night. The first time fairy tales from the library were stolen, ones that Steve has personal copies of.   They have a discussion where it is brought up specifically what happened in Poden when Karl mentions the Nagas and asking if the snake that broke the wards were Naga due to the concern the Unchained were targeting the Mage's Guild here. Steve is interested to hear about the Naga and the parties goals for the unchained.   Due to their deeds in helping Pearl, putting aside differences and working with something unnatural for the greater good, and their removal of the Devil serial killer he has decided the party was worthy of attempting the trial of Sunnis. For he, and his department, are the guardians and protectors of Sunnis. She is below the guild in her temple. It is his job to select people to try and take on her quest.   The last person to attempt the quest was Karl's mentor Elaran Shyr. Steve and Elaran were keeping in contact through magical means but Elaran missed a check in and hasn't been heard from since. He was last in Sarmeen.   The party is told to go and get some rest before returning here for sunrise.
