Session 8: Going Off Road! Report

General Summary

6th of Roelir 1524 (retcon mrpg chat)   There was a discussion of fighting as a team. There was an argument that started but was quickly smoothed over with bribing of chocolate.   The group was attacked by gnolls that night. Xeldarix grew violent when the mask from her earrings went onto her face. After the fight she was still raging and attacking the corpse. Reign did manage to calm her slightly before Xeldarix's rage got the better of her and she pinned Reign to the ground. Lily tried to calm her with a touch and that got her attacked as well. Lily calmly talked her down and got her to take the mask off. Xeldarix was clearly dazed afterwards. She revealed she was not always in control on when she had to wear the masks.   The rest of the night pasted in peace.   7th of Roelir 1524   The group heads North from the lake. They make it to the road that goes around Pashacht and follow that further towards the mountain but then go off into the forest to make camp for the night.   Reign worked with Fargrim and Xeldarix on some sparring and tripping maneuvers.   While passing time in camp a tribe of Firbolg are seen passing by the camp. They look sad and hurried to leave. Lily goes out to talk to them, speaking in Rjuriven. They explained that someone attacked their camp. It was a women like Reign. Many of their children had been kidnapped. They carry on their way.   An hour later a women named Alice comes through, asking after the Firbolgs. She claimed to be one of their companions who got separated from them during the attack, but did not understand Rjuriven. The group quickly came to the conclusion that Alice was not be trusted.   When Alice approached the group Lily reacted by knocking her back with some wind. Xeldarix went to stand next to Lily to support her. Alice attacked Lily, Xeldarix intervened and promptly disappeared. The group continued battle, restraining Alice. Xeldarix returned looking hurt and pissed. Alice got one last damage spell off before she was knocked out by the group.   After some discussion Lyra convinced the group to interrogate Alice. Xeldarix brought her back up with her blood magic and acted in support of Lyra who was asking questions with Lily.   Information gained:

• The main location of the Circle of Willow.
• Gaugauth is her patron and the patron of her circle.
• Gaugauth is on this plane and moves around a lot.
• Gaugauth is going to meet an Elf by the name of Syndir Morningsteel.
• Alice sent the children from the tribe to her circle with a teleportation circle/crystal device.
• Her chains give her the ability to access the power of her patron.
• Xeldarix seemed to know of Gaugauth.

Xeldarix killed and disposed of the body of Alice. While Karl sent a message to Christos about the witches and what they learnt. Christos sent a message back with more information about king and his movements.    Later that night Karl showed off one of his new spells to keep the party safe. Xeldarix seemed to have a bad reaction to it. Appearing dazed and having trouble focusing. Lily and Lyra tried to talk to her but with little success. Instead she stumbled out of the tiny hut and seemed to recover claiming something had to keep the horses safe overnight. Members of the party did observe Xeldarix healing herself by cutting herself overnight.   8th of Roelir 1524   The next day was uneventful, if a little rainy, as they rode through the Pashacht territory, however a slight misjudgement of course had them still in the territory as the sun set and the land started to change.   An earthquake was felt throughout the area, throwing everyone but Xeldarix and Lily off their horses. Lily took the opportunity to get off and land safely and Xeldarix did not ride a horse. The ground opened up below them and they all fell through to an underground river that sent the party pelting down stream in very rough, icy water.

• Came across a witch to discover more about the witches.
• Fell down a sinkhole and into a underground river.
