Two planets offer possible refuge for the wayward fleet. Each has its own advantages and challenges. Captain Williams favors the barren rock currently known only as Beta, while Administrator Fowler prefers the windswept but lush world called Alpha. Which world will become the (temporary?) home for the thousands of colonists flung across the galaxy?
