This is such a fantastic idea, I can see why large file hosting might be an issue, however, short clips for themes, or pronunciations would be amazing.

I hate to do this ya'll, but I agree with ka_jan full heartedly in that I'd rather this be about having our own audio player, but the point @Arumbus is SO important--in that I don't want anything approved that puts this platform at risk due to unsavory practices--where the result will be copyright issues.   I use several platforms myself--but then decided to host everything on a single Anchor account and use that to upload the various files into my world. Works just fine and Dimi/Janet are protected.

Though I could personally use this, I think with copyright issiues when it come to media, particularly music and video, it provides too much liability to WA and its owners as they are not the ones who control what is uploaded. If there was ever copyright issue, they would go after WA and Dimi and Janet first... it is always about where the perceived money is.

I agree, i was using Syrinscape and loved it but having it all in one location would kick ass. Sound is so immersive for online gaming.

If I host on SoundCloud and mark it "private" there, when I set a link on World Anvil to the file even with the password included, it displays the "this file is unavailable" error message in the SoundCloud block. I would rather pay more money to World Anvil for my audio files hosting, and have control of which subscribers can access what, than pay SoundCloud to reduce the pestering of spammers and bots.
