What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Because every article URL is made up of article title, world title, and even WA Username (of the world owner), these URLs are rather volatile. As someone who has a tendency to rename things and likes to share my articles to a variety of people, this has been an issue for me on more than one occasion.
So I suggest a way of having some fixed URL for each article that never updates - and no, I'm not talking about the custom URLs feature you get with a Sage membership. First of all, the Sage rank is quite expensive (not saying WA should make any less money, btw), and secondly, even custom URLs may be changed, in which case somebody with an old link could possibly hit a dead end.
A solution
Every article has a UUID that doesn't change. Through this, more permanent URLs could be created. Rather as a replacement for how URLs are constructed currently, however, my suggestion would be that URLs made with these UUIDs would instead redirect to the current "proper" URL of the article with that UUID.
(yes, second shot at this because first time I was super unclear and excluded a lot of relevant information. Thanks, Dimi <3)
The Team's Response
This suggestion did not reach the required level of support during its voting period.
Locked url slugs per user regardless of username changes cannot happen since the potential for abuse in extremely high.
A system that allows you to get a secondary URL for an article using its UUID is not a bad idea at all but it will need to be voted by the community in order to be implemented.
