map maps pin hover click
It would be nice to have the option to change the hover on pins which opens an info box, to a click via a checkbox ideally. WITHOUT opening a new page and leaving the map.

And on single article link the page isn't switched unless you use the Direct Link checkbox. So unless I misunderstand what you are trying to say I don't see how this would be useful.
