What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
The charts feature currently only has one line of working, making it hard to show relationships between some items.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Giving the option of more than one parent category as well as linking articles under different items will make it more versatileWhat are other uses for this feature request?

This suggestion has nor reached 300 participants and would have normally been closed. The current charts feature is not built to support multiple parents, and that will not change BUT ther are plans for a mindmap like system that will allow multiple parents and multiple children, just not under the Org Charts. It will be still be under "Charts" and will probably be called Mindmaps

on 2021-05-06 17:47If this could support graphviz (see https://graphviz.org/documentation/ and http://graphviz.it ), that could be incredible. I use graphviz to create "logical" maps of dungeons and adventures, being able to paste in the actual graphviz code would open up all sorts of potential uses. It's fiddly, but it would work for many folks (css is fiddly, it works for many folks).

on 2021-05-04 07:34I imagine the mind map would be node-based charts where each node can be articles/images/etc., similar to how Atlas pins are formatted, but unlike Atlas there can be multiple, and possibly directional, user formatted links between pins/nodes to show relationships between the pins/nodes. A way to approach this could be to make "mind-maps" the default, with content trees and diplomacy webs being a pre-formatted version of that. Without knowing what the backend looks like perhaps Atlas, Arachne or a combination can be used as a base.

I think they should be edited just like map markers in presentation mode, creating nodes and connecting them with a few clicks. I am currently using a subscription mind mapping software for this. If World Anvil had this simple feature, it would surely increase its value a lot for me.
