Thank you all for voting for this! The reason it is not implemented right now is because articles cannot be easily be separated by their templates. Cloning to another world will not happen, even if cloning happens, it will be in the same world and then you will be able to move it if you wish. Content, Vignette, title will probably be possible (still under investigation Sections, CSS, Tags are quite possible if content and vignette will be I cannot guarantee anything about special fields, once again articles are not just a bunch of words, they are part of an intricate network of data. Preferences is something that I will have to investigate its viability. An experiement will be conducted and I will inform you of the results. This is not considered high priority but the experiment will not take a long time so it might slip through the cracks on an earlier time.
This would also fix the problem I have with the purple button. If you don't pick a article type it makes it a generic article. I can't say how many times I have created a stub article with the purple button mentioned it in my current article and then realized then later when I want to expand the article I create realized it is the wrong type. It is very frustrating to have to make a new article of the right type and then go back and remention the new article.
Absolutely want this. I have several worlds set in the same 'setting' and this would help so much!!
I would definitely use this. I actually would have used this just today. Sometimes template is overkill, and I want to keep everything from one article save for a few changes. In my case, I was making some category pages.
Would be very useful for creating sibling articles to counter cases of "I forgot the one line in another tab of the template that I filled out on all the other agents of this group" Or "I spelled the family name differently on two of them than the others."
Arguably covered by the article template system, but I think is a good solution for cases where a template is overkill in terms of effort to outcome. I'd like to just create a base bbcode setup, such as for a creature, and clone it into an article.
Please! I could do so much with this~
I would have a great deal of use for this myself with one project in particular.
I have made one Grand World, which I have spent a great time on, but it is always nice to make smaller worlds for specific D
Yes, yes, and yes! Giving this all the coins I can because this is a feature I've always wanted (and pretty sure have asked for in the past). No, copy and paste is not effective considering how many fields WA articles have (vignette, template specific areas, sidebar, footer, header...). Duplicating articles like we can duplicate statblocks would be massive.
