What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

When planning stories that cover a large amount of time or a large cast of characters, it can be overwhelming to see every item on your timeline at once.    Sometimes I want to be able to only look at key historic events in my story, or even just key events in a particular storyline. Right now, if I want to be able to do that, I have to create multiple timelines and remember to add the relevant events too each timeline.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

It would be great if you could essentially zoom out on a timeline and only be shown significant events and zoom in at specific points in a timeline to be shown more information/more trivial events. There could be a zoom level for each of the significance levels already available in historical entries (i.e. Milestone/Era Changing, Major/Global, etc.), so that the most "zoomed out" setting would only show Milestone/Era Changing events, the next level would show Milestone/Era Changing events and Major/Global events, and so on until the most "zoomed in" setting would show literally every type of event you have.    I think the Zoom feature would be especially effective in addressing this problem as it would allow for easy transition from one set of events to another (for laptop users, you can literally just use your touchpad), but a button or menu within the World that allows you to choose what level of events you want to see at a given time could also work.

What are other uses for this feature request?

I'm not sure at this time.
