What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Right now .webp images are officially only supported as single frames (static image). But animated article headers are a really nice thing to have, example see here example (sorry that it is a bit blurry, but that is because I used an online mp4 to webp converter that is limited to 800px). This example is less than 1 MB, so smaller than many images included into articles.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Make things nice and shiny. I want all the shiny.What are other uses for this feature request?
Animated article headers, animated borders, maybe even animated maps at some point. There should be limitations to this to prevent any mis-use may break loading of pages or create heavy load on servers: max height, max width, limited file size. if there is a way to check it maybe even a limited "frames per second".The Team's Response
This suggestion has not reached the required number of votes. Feel free to resubmit at a later time. Allowing for animated headers will mean non cropped headers in articles although this is possible it will be a considerable load. I will be happy to consider this as a per-world option if it reaches the threshold
