Ability to Customize beyond the Universal Date

New Feature Addition · Timelines · Created by Bowmansson

The Universal Dating is very handy, please don't misunderstand me, however ending up in the year 14,000 in a fantasy timeline if you are including thousands of years of backstory lore can be a little... strange.

I propose a way to have the option to alter the year numbers of each era they add, while keeping said era in order.

  Example: XYZ Era years are 1 - 3000 | The next Era | ZZTop Era Years 1 - 3000

This way each era could be somewhat separate from the others in a similar way that Tolkien had his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Age having their own section of years.

The Team's Response

This suggestion has not reached the necessary number of votes or community support during its period of voting.   The default system of dating in a world (under configuration) is a catch-all system in the case that a used does not wish to go further in than just two basic eras.   You can created 10s if not 100s of Eras using Timelines and link events in these timelines to define events within those eras.   In conclusion, the ability to create multiple eras already exists and it is also getting a major update with the introduction of Chronos which is currently in Alpha testing by the Alchemists (Grandmasters who enabled new features testing)
