Maps -timelines area mark

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I can Add a Marker, but not mark an Area. It would be great to outline an Area to a Marker. Maybe the inner part can be coulered with translucienty. It was pretty well done in Wonderdraft using the "Region" feature
[url:https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldAnvil/comments/vkgz50/mark_area_on_a_map/]     How does this feature request address the current situation?   instead of only Points areas can be marked for Timelines. I would use it to show how countries change in their political topology. This would also be a great feature for Maps, as I guess it all comes together :).

What are other uses for this feature request?

If you can mark an area instead of only a marker you can show
  • the area of an explosion, rendering some land uninhabitable
  • a whole River or Lake that was poisoned
  • how an Invasion runs its course
  • area of a war
  • area of a blessing or curse.
  • Follow up

The Feature is already available for MAPS for Grandmasters, but NOT for Maps in the timelines section. This suggestion is for an implementation to the timelines section.
My wording was incorrect. Instead of "Timelines" I should have written "Chronicles". The new Feature under the "Timelines" section. I appologize for my mistake.

    The Team's Response

i am closing this because there was a lot of confusion on what this suggestion was about.
  • Area marking is available to Grandmasters in MAPS
  • Chronicles will be integrated with Atlas the new version of Maps once this feature is complete. At that point those with access to the feature will have the ability to mark areas in chronicles.

Only voting because I think such an old and simple map tool shouldn't be just for Grandmaster+.

Just because the Grand Masters have it doesn't mean it cannot be expanded to the working class.   Rise Proletariats!

It is in the timelines section, so the suggestion is for chronicles, which only has markers I believe.

Just confirming what PrincessESH said. This is an existing feature for Grandmaster level. You can see how to do it (and what else can be done at different account levels) in the Codex for Maps. It's explained under "How to add a polygon or circle". I don't know if this applies to the new chronicle maps.
