Having a proper way to link translated articles would be great - and a generic way to manage alternative versions would be even better! I can also imagine showing the same subject from different perspectives, e.g. the same war but colored by each faction's prejudices and propaganda. Or the same spaceship as seen by a) the civilization which built it and b) the pre-spacefaring culture that is utterly puzzled by it.
Both a language switch or a chronological switch would be insanely handy, and would allow subscriber groups to be used for something other than languages.
The "time-sensitive versions" of articles idea is really, really good, I'm +1 it
I also like the "time-sensitive versions" of articles idea
I've also started doing translation of some articles and thought about suggesting that feature. I've made do with having two different articles linked together for now but that feature would hopefully look more elegant on the reader's end. Another thing is that it's currently impossible to do a translation of the world homepage and codex so having an option for the reader to quickly switch them to another language would be nice.
I really like the idea of Michael Chandra. "Honestly I can also imagine a more generic 'different versions' of an article/world, which also allows for time-sensitive versions (for example '812 CE' and '834 CE' versions, or a before/after significant event)" @Dimitris: If you do not want to integrate that idea in this vote, please let me know. I would open a new vote for that :-)
We as a Team of german Pen & Paper Developers would love to have the opportunity to switch the language to english, from our german base content!
Sounds quite useful yes, I know one person during WorldEmber did double-work displaying articles in 2 languages. (Honestly I can also imagine a more generic 'different versions' of an article/world, which also allows for time-sensitive versions (for example '812 CE' and '834 CE' versions, or a before/after significant event), as well. I can imagine having a 'book 1, book 2, book 3' versioning of articles would be real nice for writers and their accompanied world-bible.)
+1 for conlang usage (I can see some other unique ways to use this, too)
Another potential use for this is for people who make conlangs and wish to write articles in their conlang.
