What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
We now have ALL THE PINS in maps. But what, if we want to make a plot and reference all the pins? We need pins for articles! Suggestion: same format as for img, but named (where id is the pin name):
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Right now there is no way to properly reference specific locations on a map or map embed from within an article. With the new tag you can just add a legend or put the pins right into the text. ("In the House of Horrors (1) blabla.." ... where (1) would be the pin icon).The Team's Response

on 2021-04-30 17:02Good idea :D. Even better would be if you could reference a _specific_ pin. And if you then click the embedded pin, it could open the map at that location. Or it could even move an embedded map to the indicated location. Though I don't know how that last feature would be made intuitive to setup.

on 2021-04-30 16:10I love the new flat pins. I am currently using these pins in my maps. I would be great to be able to use these in my articles, for consistency. Like when I want to describe the guildhouses of my world, having matching pins & icons would be awesome.
