language dictionary notes
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently, when inputting a new word into the dictionary feature for the language article template, there is no section for a creator to make any notes specific to the word without creating an entirely new article or jamming information in slots it doesn't quite fit.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
This feature request would add an input section for each word, similar to a prompt for a category. I would suggest this section be labeled either 'Notes' or 'Additionals' in order to leave it open for further adaptation by individual users.
What are other uses for this feature request?
The notes section could serve as a place for indicating if a word is particularly archaic, a slang term, chronically mispronounced or misspelled, or similar to another word in ways that have unique consequences - such as the signal for 'thank you' being dangerously similar to the signal for '**** you' in American sign language. If the language is a sign language, this section could contain any gestures made accompanying the word.
The Team's Response
This did not reach any threshold but it's a very good suggestion. I am accepting this, probably with a a little bit of a lower priority but it's not that hard to implement.
