Email Notification Update Followers Subscribers Players
Currently, you can push a notification to the followers of the world when you add an important new article, and you can also push it to discord. However, my players only open World Anvil and Discord when we are going to play a session and will most likely not even notice the new notification.
What my players and I would like is if there was an option to enable email notifications so that they get an email and are that way triggered to go to Word Anvil and read the new article.
The Team's Response
This suggestion did not achieve sufficient support during its voting period. As SoulLink suggested, your world already has an RSS feed. This feed can be connected via Zappler or any other automator to send emails, shout at them, send drones with machineguns etc to inform them. If we were to implement this your players and you would have to accept an amendment to your ToCs to allow for WA to send you non-critical emails and also, emails cost which will mean either restricting this to the highest tiers or creating addons (which I absolutely hate :P )

on 2021-06-09 11:17My players have been asking for this more than once already. As of now, half of them is checking World Anvil constantly so as not to miss anything. The other half only ever opens the page, if I specifically tell them to look, wich defeats the point of notifications just a little bit. Email Notification could be a happy medium.

on 2021-06-03 12:23This would have some implications as followers would need to be informed of this and a system to agree to receive notifications via email as it has legal implications (e.g. sharing their email address). You can easily set this up with Zapier and your RSS Feed (5 min.) I might create a guide on the weekend on how to do that.
