articles -categories indexing
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Although the arrange functionality for articles within categories (or categories themselves) is helpful, and the numerical arrangement within categories, this functionality becomes more difficult with large amounts of NPC's, Towns or Geographical Areas added within a particular category, especially when articles are added much later to an already large amount. I have looked around and if this functionality is available, I am not aware of it beyond the Position/Weight field in the Navigation tab.
It would be convenient for a category or article to have a simple checkbox or pulldown made available in their Advanced Edit area to allow for all articles within that category (or articles parented by that article) to be automatically arranged alphabetically, reordering their position/weight on the navigation tabs to match. Options could be to do so while disqualifying prefixes such as 'the', 'a' or 'an'. Other options might be made available, such as alphabetizing without removing those prefixes, or ordering by date of entry.
The box would be unchecked by default to ensure that articles can still be arranged to taste with the click/drag functionality within the Articles and Categories, or weighted in the individual fields.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
As it stands right now, especially in the Articles and Categories view, click-dragging (which is by far the easiest way to arrange articles within a category) can be cumbersome with a large number of articles within a category view, even in slimmed-down mode:
(The above list goes on for another screen or so)
To arrange within a list like this, a user needs to be able to click-drag-scroll, which I can't speak to with a mousepad, but is difficult with a mouse. While I wouldn't want to necessarily alphabetize every category, indexing larger categories is easier if I order them.
What are other uses for this feature request?
I am admittedly unsure if this feature has other uses outside of category and article view, but if nothing else, it would make article categorizing easy for the creation of an index for those wishing to export for PDF creation of their world or the like.

This is already possible, please read SoulLink's comment above. (both in matters of implementation and limitations)
