Upon arriaval I was greeted by those sent before me, Hanging from a tree. They swayed  in greetings barking a warning to stay my curiousity & keep low my knowledge & profile. Dread pulled at my heart. As I entered New Ulm I recalled the warnings of the Minister, "These are fanatics Finnley. They set out to a world bathed in magic yet shun it's very existence. Were it entirely up to me you'd be on a demolition mission. But unfortunatlythat would look "bad" to the plebeans. So go & ensure there isn't another Slaton."

The Thick woods in the region had me on edge. Since I arrived in Abhainn. The tree was no conciliation, But upon this hill like a beacon stood a walled town with buildingstreets & the smell of warm food. A sense of hope came over me as the town seemed untouched by the wilds. Maybe there was a chance that they weren't in need of ectra help after all. Maybe this place could be avoided by all but Tax Collectors.

But tit was getting dark and there was a Land Survey that need completing in the morning, So a room at The Blinking Eye was in order.

As I travelled down the High street my eyes were pulled to the sole stone building, Crenelated with veins of gold running through its stonework. It's guilded sign reading THE OPEN EYE. Its prominence as curious as its emptyness.

As the days have gone by I've only witnessed it's hulking bouncer admit 3souls through it's threshold. The Reverend, The Burgrave, and The Banker. After asking around the fater of the General Store owner was willing to tell me a bit of the history of the founding of New Ulm by the Reverends predecessor. Aparently this building holds the secret to the knowledge used to fight back the monsters at the gates and is where these town leaders go & form defense plans. I must See Inside of this place. Either the lack of magic is merely a front or this could prove invaluable in defending other settlements.
