The country of Isenwalt had fallen into a state of depression and great woe. Due to the recent destruction of the great city of Elsterförde in 1475 due to what could only be described by those witness to the event as a dragon that came from even further north, known as the Pierced Drake dousing the whole city and even the Queen of Isenwalt herself, Patrica Weimrot in a bath of fire. The current King, Gert Weimrot began to pull resources from his kingdom in an obsessive response to this tragedy and many innocent men, women and even young people, some already with jobs of their own began to get pulled from their homes and sent away to the northern realms. Some were sent to the scorched ruins of Elsterförde attempt to rebuild the scarred land while the more able were sent into the Hôhblout Mountains to form the group known as the Mistveil Order in an attempt to locate the Pierced Drake and seek revenge on the abomination.
 
 
Most of the population in the south did not appreciate being taken from their homes and so they began to grow tired of their king, a few groups even making treks up to Himmelstern to protest against him. However, at this point Gert would not see anyone and as the Reini's year of 1476 began, a fair portion of commoners began to leave the capital, leaving only a large portion of the military to station the city. Soon, the King began to get flooded with threats of death and violent messages from his own people which he seemed to only ignore and was only fueled by vengeance towards this dragon that supposedly resided in the Hôhblout mountains and soon enough, he stopped seeing citizens and visitors all together while closing himself and his own two children within the walls of his castle.

As innocents from all around Isenwalt were being seized from their homes, one family from the south would not take these actions in stride. A minor house from the town of Feenbruch, House Hildebrand would begin to tell the denizens of Feenbruch to fight back against those who would dare to lure them north. This began to light a fire underneath
