Umeli is a 9th-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). Umeli has the following wizard spells prepared:  

  • Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, light, mage hand, prestidigitation
  • 1st level (4 slots): detect magic, mage armor, magic missile, shield
  • 2nd level (3 slots): misty step, blur
  • 3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, fireball, fly
  • 4th level (3 slots): greater invisibility, confusion
  • 5th level (1 slot): cone of cold


Nine Hands (9/day). As a reaction (1 charge) Umeli can take when attacked or targeted by a magical effect, the hands manifest a small plane of pure translucent force that flickers and gleams, taking on a shield-like shape that hovers near her until the end of her next turn, granting her a +2 bonus to AC and advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.   In addition, the hands allow her to take a bonus action on any round, up to and including casting one additional spell.   Rejuvinator (1/day). When Umeli places this adhesive patch on her skin as a bonus action, she regains 8d4 + 8 hit points.   Ecstasy paralyzer. When Umeli activates this device as an action, it fires a beam of energy that strikes one target within 120 feet. On a failed DC 13 Wisdom saving throw, the target’s mind is overwhelmed with pleasure, incapacitating them for one round.   Analyzing shield. This shield is made of a transparent material as hard as metal. Umeli can see through it, and it has a display that automatically analyzes targets she views through it and indicates the best place for her to strike them. She can use her reaction to add her Intelligence bonus to a melee attack roll against a target she can see through the shield.   Amulet of Cypherwights. An amulet of finger bones clutched around a small device hangs around Umeli’s neck. This amulet is what keeps animating new cypherwights. If destroyed (AC 14, 20 hit points), all active cypherwights fall back into their original remains, leaving a cypher behind in the dust.

Actions

Dagger of Venom. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: (1d4 + 3) piercing damage and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take an additional 2d10 poison damage and become poisoned.
