Mindless Thrall:   When infected with these eggs the host gradually becomes concerned only about the wellbeing of the young growing inside them. They will do anything to protect them, even if it costs them their life. When the larvae bore their way out of the flesh and start to pupate, the host then becomes focused on reinforcing the cocoons as best they can. While pupating in this way the cocoons grow tendrils into the host body, as the grubs do not fully remove themselves. They leave just enough inside to cling on. They then feed on the host and drain it till they get weaker and weaker and eventually die. The new young wasps then hatch and use the carcass as their first meal, only to then fly off in search of other unfortunate victims to infest.   Anyone infected in this way must pass a DC12 Wisdom save before they can be treated. They may do this once a day. After one week the DC increases by 1 and does so each successive week after this. Once the eggs have started growing inside them then only visiting a healer able to remove these eggs will cure them.

Actions

Latch On: Melee Weapon Attack +1 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. On a sucessful hit the target is grappled. When grappled in this way the parasite wasp can use its inject eggs ability on their following turn.   Inject Eggs: Melee Weapon Attack +1 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 1d4 piercing damage. When the target takes damage in this way the wasp then lays its eggs inside their body and then flys away.

If you thought wasps were bad enough then the Goliath Parasite Wasp is the stuff of nightmares. At roughly 1 ft long it is wise to stay well away from this creature. Unlike other wasps that merely sting, the most dangerous thing about this one, other than its size, is that it lays its eggs inside the bodies of living hosts. These can be any beast it can find and even inside people.   Being the most important thing it will ever do in its lifetime, the goliath parasite wasp is relentless in their pursuit of a host. It will fight to the death for a the chance of a mere few seconds to inject the eggs under the skin of its target.   These eggs take only 2 to 3 weeks to reach maturity and hatch. These grubs are born ready with sharp chitinous jaws, which they use to bite their way out of the host's body. When they free themselves they immediately start to pupate, spinning their silk to form a protective cocoon.   While inside the body these young produce chemicals that flow into the bloodstream of the host, towards the nervous system and the brain. These take over the mind of the unfortunate victim and instill in them a protective, nuturing instinct. When affected in this way they turn into almost a mindless thrall of the young growing inside them. When the eggs hatch and the larvae pupate, the host will do whatever it can to protect the young, even to the detriment of their own health.
