This ring can capture the essence of a spell and retranslate it into the wearer's mind, allowing them to cast the spell themselves. The ring can memorize up to 1/2 character level (rounded down)+1 levels worth of spells at a time. Only spells of 5th level or lower may be memorized.   When a spell is cast on this ring, it absorbs the effects of the spell, allowing it to be cast by its wielder using their own spell slots as long as the ring retains its memory of the spell. The spells act as they would as if the wielder had learned them normally, including material costs, casting time, etc. The Ring of Spell Mimicry remembers stored spells until other spells replace it.   As a reaction, the wielder can attempt to learn spells that target them as long as they are aware that magic has been cast on them. They must pass an Arcana skill check with a DC equal to 15+the spell's level. On a success, the ring absorbs some of the spell's essence and can henceforth be used by its wielder. It does not stop the effects of the spell from affecting the wielder.

This ring was once a Ring of Spell Storing, but was imbued with the powers of a mimic and strong magical essences. It is a thick platinum ring with the symbols for the 8 schools of magic engraved along the sides.
