Requires Attunement
This weaveblade shines with pure white light and burns hot, turning the air around its blade into wisps of steam. Its soft hum sounds like a pleasant musical chord if one listens closely.
Sentience. Guardian is a sentient lawful good weapon with an Intelligence of 17, a Wisdom of 20, and a Charisma of 15. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common and Celestial.
Personality. The flow ghost of an ancient Jed’ah Siverain inhabits Guardian. The weapon speaks to its wielder in that long-deceased Siverain’s voice. It admonishes its wielder for forming personal attachments that could lead them to make irrational decisions or compromise their principles, and otherwise urges its wielder to think of the greater good.
Dormant
The weaveblade grants the following benefits in its dormant state:
- You can speak, read, and write Celestial.
- Instead of its normal damage die, this weaveblade uses a d12. It does not have the light property, and has the two-handed and heavy properties.
- You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
- While wielding this weapon, you can cast Shield of Faith once. After casting it, you cannot cast it from the weaveblade again until the next dawn.
Awakened
When the weaveblade reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:
- The weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +2.
- You can cast Shield of Faith from the weaveblade twice, instead of once.
- The weaveblade can have up to 3 charges. It can only gain charges via the Barrier Absorption and Force Absorption features.
- Force Absorption. When you or a creature within 15 feet of you takes force damage, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage by 1d10 + your proficiency bonus. When you do so, the weaveblade gains 1 charge.
- Force Expulsion. When you hit a creature with an attack using the weaveblade, you can expend 1 charge to push it up to 10 feet away from you in a straight line.
Exalted
- The weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3.
- The weaveblade’s maximum number of charges increases to 5.
- When you use the weaveblade’s Force Expulsion feature, you can push the target up to 15 feet and it takes an additional 1d8 force damage from the attack.
- Barrier Absorption. The weaveblade can absorb force fields to empower itself. As an action, you can touch the weaveblade to a magical barrier such as that created by Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere, Wall of Force, and similar spells. The barrier is destroyed and the weaveblade gains 1 charge.
