Constitution of Tosormi
"We pledge to serve the continent of Tosormi, and never let us become so caught up in ourselves that we turn into the Lomians."When the Lomian Empire was kicked out as a result of the Celestial War, Tosormi had to quickly form their own government or risk total chaos. A big council was summoned by Nanda, the deity of order, consisting of communal leaders and high ranking priests for the different deities. This council then spent a month, pretty much locked up, in the Old Imperial Palace in the capital. At the end of this month, they presented the people with a new, democratic, government and the first version of what is known as the Constitution of Tosormi. This document was the first set of laws, kind of a set of ground rules, for Tosormi. They were meant to be something to lean back on if there were ever any question about how the government handles its business.
Evolution
Since the forming of Tosormi as an independent nation, the Constitution and the nation's laws has been changed by pretty much every government. This is seen as a natural progression as the nation moves through time. For example, there is currently 41 seats in the government instead of the original 11, stated to be as to better represent the people living in Tosormi.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
I really like that the constitution has evolved with time. It must have been a rather terrifying time whilst the constitution was being formed.
Yeah I definitely have to dive more into that time soon, and expand on the actual war that was before. It's an important piece of the history but there's so much I have to think about here!
