The Spirit of the Gacaca
The Spirit of Gacaca Yoj Ababio (a.k.a. Grandma Spirit or Elder)
What may look like a sweet old lady is in fact one of the most powerful and most spiritual presence on the world of Inspyra. As her boundaries keep shrinking she has cut her people off from the outside world. Being one of the oldest beings living in all planes she has seen a lot and currently she has little faith left on who she can leave her vast knowledge too.
Many call the heart and soul of Kinyra and their official name is, The Spirit of the Gacaca. This guardian spirit takes over the body of usually a still born child or a child who will not make it and give that child another life. As the spirit grows with the child it eventually starts regaining the memories of their past life and they start training to guide The Democratic Republic of Kinyra (DRK). It is a great honor for a child to inherit the Gacaca and it is of great importance that the parent of the child is included in their upbringing and other matters concerning them.
The Gacaca spirit promotes communal healing and works hand in hand with Mansa (ruling figure) of DRK. There jobs are to keep a strong connection with the land and the spirits that inhabit it, keep track and memorize the history of DRK, and travel around telling these stories to keep citizens up to date and educated.
As the Goliaths of Zahtal started to move in and take sacred land away from DRK a joint decision between the Mansa and Current Gacaca Spirit Yoj to seal away the rest of the country away from the rest of the world. This has led to a massive economic crash for a majority of the Inspyra as DRK is rich in valuable minerals and agriculture products that were a big trading resource to many countries. Many countries are unsure what to do while some want to force them open other leaders are hoping for them to open back up on their own.
