Memory Transcription

In the clerics of The Library 's endeavour to preserve knowledge in it's entirety, as bade by their goddess Ioun, they have developed a remarkable technique that allows them to record people's pure memories in a written format, known as Memory Transcription. A third level divination spell that can be ritually cast and is available to bards, wizards, knowledge domain clerics, and warlocks with a great old one patron, this spell allows the caster to transcibe a memory up to 1 minute long in reasonable detail, accurate to the target's memory. At higher levels this time extends to 10 minutes at 4th level, 1 hour at 6th level, 12 hours at 8th level, and 24hrs at 9th. The caster can transcribe their own memory, or a willing targets without a roll, and can attempt to perform this on an unwilling target, but the target makes an Intelligence Saving Throw against the caster's Spell Save DC, and the caster has no control of which memory is transcribed. The memory is transcibed by the magically prepared stylus in the target's native language, and once the spell is completed the transcription cannot be destroyed except by magical means.   Thanks to the prolific use of this spell, The Library 's History Department contains a magically enlarged and ever-expanding archive of personal recollections and accounts from across the known world and beyond, collected from hundreds of thousands of volunteers since the temple was first built.
