The Prismatic Blade

The Prismatic Blade is a legendary weapon, forged before the Riftgrounds themselves. It was created in the very heart of Aterius, out of a seemingly impossible allow of steel, mythril, and the magical Aterius Crystals mined from the arcane realm.
So the legends go, its smith traveled into the heart of Aterius during the strange vent now known as a moonsurge, when the powers of Aterius grow far brighter than normal. But not only was this night a moonsurge, it was the rarest phase of the realm by far. While Aterius typically cycles through phases tied to each school of magic, very rarely it will resonate will all of them at once, in far greater power than usual. Now know as a prismatic moon, these events are quite uncommon, and for both a prismatic moon and a moonsurge to line up on the same day is exceedingly rare.
These flooded the realm with an unprecedented level of arcane power, so much so that scholars believe he would have needed powerful magical protections to even survive being there. And these powers were what this mysterious smith poured into his greatest work, perhaps the greatest work: The Prismatic Blade.
Holding an incredible amount of latent magical power, this blade's abilities shift with the phases of Aterius. While always an incredibly powerful weapon that grants potent magic to its wielder, this weapon's truest power only reveals itself on the nights of a prismatic moon. It is said that on such a night, the raw magical power of this weapon could overpower even the Black Blade itself.
Its whereabouts have been lost to time for eons, only ancient stories surviving from when this weapon was wielded openly. Even the most dedicated of attempts to find more clues into its fate, and current location, have proved unsuccessful.
