Ragda's Pinnacle

Ragda's Pinnacle is a natural large stone needle overlooking the Lunar Sea  in the south of Tevhetra. It is the primary holy site of Ragda's Congregation as well as the seat of their political power and is thus considered one of the Tevhetran capitals. It is also the southernmost point of continental Tevhetra.

Geography

The Pinnacle and the cliffs are made of the reddish stone typical of Setre. The spire itself is about sixty feet long and about fifteen feet wide at the base, narrowing to a fine point; it also is at about a thirty degree angle relative to the sea below. While the Pinnacle can take a surprising amount of weight, the Congregation is unwilling to let those not serving as prophets to stand upon it. The cliffs around the Pinnacle are honeycombed with caves used as living space by the Congregationalists and visiting wyverns. Because this is a holy place, the Congregation maintains the area's natural appearance and refuses to dig out any more caves or tunnels.

Localized Phenomena

The area around Ragda's Pinnacle is prone to sudden, brutal cold snaps, including sudden snowstorms. The exact reason is not known, with theories ranging from a peculiarly disturbed local quintessence flow to a curse, but the Congregation attributes this to the protection of the Miraculous Winter that Ragda promised them.

Fauna & Flora

The cold snaps mean that most wild animals avoid the area around the Pinnacle, and it's not the greatest environment for plant life. The Congregationalists maintain some tuber and mushroom farms in the caves, as well as some cliff ray flocks, to sustain themselves.

History

Records of Ragda's Pinnacle date back to early elven, dvergard, and kymra travel through what is now Setre, but it regarded as more than a geographic curiosity and useful marker for wanderers. It was not until Ragda reported visions of a stone reaching out to the sea that anyone treated it as anything more. He chose it as his headquarters, alternating between traveling through the cliffs above the Lunar Sea to spread his words of the upcoming miracle and preaching from the Pinnacle. While everyone assumed he was a crank at best and heretic at worst, an out-of-season snowstorm falling around the pinnacle seemed to back up his claims, and more and more wyverns flocked to him. The surrounding cave network sheltering the wyverns against the immediate ecological damage of the Nightfall only reinforced its image of holy ground.
