Summer allergy

Summer allergy, despite its name, isn't any form of allergy. Instead its an illness with symptoms that often mimic an allergic reaction. It is most common around the summers, giving the first part of its name. In the mildest, and most common, cases the person with Summer allergy feels a bit dry in their throat and has a bit of a harder time swallowing. In some cases, however, the person might also feel short of breath, feverish, and a major loss in appetite. This can become dangerous if the person is not properly taken care of to not exhaust themself and get enough food. In the most extreme cases, a person with Summer allergy can have major trouble breathing and be in life-threatening danger. The only hope for that person at that stage is to be put in a hospital with breathing support, something that can be dangerous in its own right. Having had Summer allergy isn't a guarantee you can't get it again, although it's usually milder than the first time. While the moderate cases are rare, and the extreme cases even rarer, the outbreak of Summer allergy in the falling city quickly spread to thousands of people within days thanks to the cramped living conditions. With so many people being sick at the same time, the extreme cases were quickly becoming more than the medical system could handle. A cure had to be found, and quickly, as if the illness got to spread freely in the city soon the whole population would be sick and all the production have to shut down. It took the falling city scientists almost a month to develop a vaccine that protected against the Summer allergy in the same capacity already having had the illness does. It was quickly distributed to the population, slowing the spread and bringing the mortality rate down to close to zero.
