The Elven-Orcish Treaty

On this day, 2899 PW, the Elves and the Orcs may no longer come to organized blows with war in mind. They have tested each other and determined that they are the others' equal. Filli created them both soundly, and unity is surely her plan for their future.

As the two most dominant races of the Arengold Forest, the Elves and the Orcs shall take full responsibility for the division of the Arengold Tree into fair, reasonable segments, to ensure that all races beneath Filli's grace have a good amount of space to grow and prosper, while staying near their allies. These spaces shall allow for opportunities to socialize and even expand their lands, as long as those lands are not currently owned by another tribe.

Left out of this document are the Human Tribes, who will remain in their tribes in the Northern Roots, far from the Midtrunk. The Humans have not offered their blessing for the Treaty, and have in fact been aggressive and hostile towards Elven and Orcish diplomats alike. Therefore, the Elves and the Orcs will not offer protection and organization to the Humans, and encourage other races to keep their distance from the Human tribes.

The treaty offers the following to the Orcish race.

• Deliveries of Iron, Dumgar, Lead, and Steel, weighing about 35 Branches, on a semi-monthly basis.

• Diplomatic and warfaring aid from the Elven tribes whenever needed.

• Sharing intelligence about technology and creations to aid the Orc lifestyle.

The treaty enforces that the Orcish race gives the following in return.

• Diplomatic and warfaring aid to the Elven tribes, especially concerning the Human tribes.

• A delivery of weapons, weighing about 30 Branches, on a semi-monthly basis.

The Orcs are allowed to settle in any section of the roots of the Arengold Forest, but are encouraged to stay in the Southeastern Roots to allow for easy trade routes to be constructed. The Elves shall remain on the Midtrunk section of the tree.

*The following was drafted during the wedding between the Orcish Chieftain Dolgar and the Elven Warpriest Var. It is burnt into the center of the Midtrunk, in the largest Elf tribe.*

The rough signature of Dolgar and the refined penmanship of Var are below. Both used the poisonous Eldberry to sign, and then administered the antidote to each other.
