Yomakr
Across countless ruins from all the way beyond the Derrippi mountains to far South of the Skull Desert and even further out to sea than the Half-Shack Islands there are writings, carved into stone, that appear to be in the same language or at least the same language group.
As far as Lamaran intellectuals are concerned, the language is called Yomakr and it was spoken by a great and ancient people who fell into sin before the God of Gods decided to vibe check the entire human race with a flood for being filthy sinners.
The language itself has yet to be fully translated, but there are some artefacts and writings that are considered translated and partially translated.
The creation of the Brijilds - The Fire Family was done using information gained by the Brijiles from fully translated texts, but these texts and everyone who knew their contents were destroyed during and after the Brijild Rebellion.
As for what this language actually is, let's just say that this setting is an Afterlife and time passes 36.5 times faster in this world than ours. As a result pretty much all existing languages in the Afterlife can be considered descendent languages of ones in our world.
These ancient ruins exist across the entirety of the known world and time of year and place of death influences where one appears and gets to interact with the descendants of (odds of meeting someone who died on Earth rather than just being born in the Afterlife itself are very low) people who died at a similar time of year and near to the same place.
"Known world" is a term from the perspective of the main character, Sarah Bailey / "Seh-uh Belly", whose adventures initially center around Larama: The Nation of the Gods' Gift Peninsula and the Black Forest. Sarah died in London on Halloween night.
Great do with that information what you will.
