Moradin's Forge

Deep in the Stonekin Mountains, on the lone landmass known as the Island of Ashes, legend tells of the existence of an ancient forge. Crafted by the gods themselves, lit by an eternal fire and protected by echoes of heroes long past. According to the stories, this forge is still active and producing weapons for the Blood War.   "Moradin, the God of the Forge, toiled day and night perfecting his craft. Producing everything from divine sets of armour to intricate machines that whir and click. But the curiosity of a god is never sated, and Moradin sought a higher purpose for his creation. So Moradin began a new project, unlike any other before it. The great Forgemaster began to shape the very stone of the young world into beings of strength. A skilled craftsman, but by no means an artist, Moradin modeled this new creation after his own image. Short, stout and strong. Bristling beard and thick, wiry hair. After years of working in secret, taking time where he could from his duty to the rest of the pantheon, he finally neared completion. All that was left was to give life to the still form he had created. For that, Moradin crafted the Stoneheart - a legendary artifact believed to possess the power to bring life to stone. And so it was, through the complex rituals and divine skill only he possessed, a new creation was born. This was to be known as the first Dwarf, with many more to follow."

  • After his unsanctioned creation, legends say he was forced to abandon his forge within the earth, as punishment for his transgressions. To this day, Moradin's Forge stands, unattended by any but the ghosts of the past.
    Inventor(s)
    Moradin, God of the Forge
    Access & Availability
The Forge is not accessible to any but those deemed worthy. However, the requirements for such a title remains unknown. With no record of anyone ever finding, or entering the Forge.
    Complexity
Given what is believed to have been achieved by Moradin within the Forge, and what is known about the Forgemaster, scholars surmise that the Forge itself is an extremely powerful artifact or possibly even a set of artifacts. Its complexity unfathomable.
