Vosepi

Alternate Name: The City of Whores   Population: 100,000   Demonym: Vosepian   Demographics: Vosepi had a population largely composed of native Ipiculan people and Venians. Due to its status as a center of trade and tourism, numerous ethnicities called the city home. These included Diakai, Fahris, among others.    Government: A town council of eight magistrates ruled over the city. Much like the Triarchs in Venia, elections were staggered. Half of the positions were opened for reelection every other year. Vosepi’s elite held a firm grasp over the small number of positions. Enormous bribes were exchanged back and forth to ensure the preferred candidates obtained their seats on the councils.   Defences: Towering white stone walls protected the city and port.   Industry and Trade: Although all kinds of trade goods were available in the Vosepi’s markets, the two most famous industries were prostitution and slavery. The slave markets were a short walk away from the port. It was a crowded and stuffy place, where hundreds to thousands of people traded hands every day. Many were sold to the city’s brothels, but most were sent to work in nearby estates.   Tourism: Countless travelers every year visited the city’s more than one hundred brothels. Men and women of all lands and ethnicities were available. Every taste was catered to and whores serviced customers with every budget, from the cheapest lounging in the streets to courtesans strutting through the homes of the wealthy. In the seediest locations, pimps even sold the services of young children. There was even a giantess who offered herself to more adventurous clients. The high volume of tourism facilitated petty crime, so visitors needed to keep their purses close and walk the streets in groups to avoid becoming victims.   Geography: The city was situated on the southern tip of the Vosepian Peninsula, at the intersection of the Venian Road and the Golden Road. The nearby river emptied into the Insular Sea several miles to the east.   Natural Resources: Rolling hills in the city’s outskirts provided ample room for grain farms, vineyards, and orchards.
