Makan's Comet (May-can's)

Summary
Out in the continent of Arthina lies a mysterious mass of unknown origin. When it first arrived it was without much time for foresight and crashed violently into the continent. Thankfully the settlers who used to live there were informed and evacuated before the impact of the massive object. It desolated the landscape, embedding itself into the ground and creating a crater that spanned for miles. For a time, the blasted rock and ruined buildings were the landscape of that region. Relief crews sent by the Medaeus missionaries and Corvyn Medicine Conglomerate (CMC) helped to clear the wreckage and provide aid to the citizens of the former town. During the clearing and relocation of affected people, strange properties were exhibited by the comet and miracles seemed to happen from thin air.
Peculiar Aftermath
After landing in Arthina, the object gathered the attention of various organizations such as the CMC, the Dreadsdyn Inquisition, various Materiologists and even the Aethersworn. Out of mutual interest, the investigating groups formed a temporary team that would establish a camp on the outskirts of the crater. The first noticed symptom of the rock was discovered when a small squad of researchers attempted to gather mineral samples of the comet by making slight excavations into it. When collected, the rock began to display evidence of a hollow internal structure, with a wispy, sparkling blue substance wafting from its newly exposed surface. This observation immediately piqued the interest of the team's representatives and they postulated what the substance could be.   At first it was kept quiet, but soon explorers and hikers in the region took notice of the encampment and coverings built in the center of the crater. Some people would walk closer, but were advised to stay away by Dreadsdyn Honorguards. Despite their honest efforts to keep people from the site, distant observers, journalists and sneaky, curious folk who got a closer look were able to spread word of the rock and have even more people come to see it themselves. During this growth in attention, the second phenomenon occurred; fresh grass, flowers and simple vegetation began to grow from the blasted slit-rock made by the impact just a week or two ago. This piqued interest of the researchers, study groups, Dreadsdyn Inquisition and even more bystanders.
Myths and Mysticism
The residents of the previous town rustled chatter among themselves about how the comet impacted their homes and that they were lucky to have survived. They also began sharing tales of where the rock could be from and why it had these strange properties. Some believed it was evidence of greater things beyond the world they lived in; a message in stone or a sample from another planet sent to them deliberately. They theorized the comet contained secrets to unlock and a power that could take them to the stars and beyond.     Those who were part of the Aethersworn attributed their survival as the voice of Aetheresia working through their fellow countrymen. She compelled them to foretell of the rock's arrival before it had a chance to obliterate themselves and their families. They would continue to recite her scripture and give thanks for their lives that they had by her breath and will.   And few others attributed the event to another power; Makan the World Shaper. They claimed that this power, which resided at the edge of the universe felt contempt of the townspeople and their wicked ways and sent this stone down to destroy them. In their place, the power Makan preserved through the stone would sew the land anew and make way for its second chance. They said new settlers, new animals and even new organic life would be brought about by the stone in time and that their evasion of this certain doom was a twist of fate.     Many people took to the tale of Makan more than others, and so it was colloquially named "Makan's Comet". The truth of the comet has yet to be discovered. One thing's for certain, there are great power and great secrets within it. Only time and further study will reveal its nature and potential.
