When one asks who was the first person an elite group of guards, highly trained, extremely disciplined, uncommonly competent, could possibly be protecting, the royal family would be the first answer given. The exact answer invites blank stares and the same question; Who is Armundus?

When Armundus was preparing a trip that could possibly conclude the most lucrative contract in his career. Knowing that the journey would be perilous, he needed protection. Looking at his usual guards, he found them lacking. Renting guards would be a waste. That is when he created the Life Guaranteed.

Armundus held tryouts in archery, in jousting, in combat with a long sword and combat without weapons. The five leaders in each category were kept and the rest were sent away. Then the real training began. Using centuries old maneuvers mixed with modern tactics, the soldiers of Life Guaranteed practiced night and day until they were the utmost proficient with or without weapons.

The voyage was even more perilous than anticipated. No less than four attempts were made on his life. By the time the group returned, one member had succumbed to her injuries and two others were in hospital for lacerations and broken bones. Elated with the overall result, Armundus decided to expand the Lífið Garantet.
