Takk'pan

Takk’pan, stared, shocked, at the carnage before him. He stood atop a dune, overlooking the battle that lasted barely a minute. The fear he glimpsed as they were engulfed by the sand– his sand, it   No.   No, he did it for his tribe, the Nar’rah. They had been without water for quite some time, and they needed this wellspring. He was sent to make use of their fewer numbers. He had the ability to control the sand, what most believed to be the body of Takk, their god and his namesake… an incredibly overused namesake if anything. When blood touched the sand, or when he used his powers on the sand, it became corrupted, turning a deep red. Someone needed to end it, but no one had the will to leave their home.   He turned to the mountains, contemplative. Two tribes disappeared across those mountains; either the destruction or the salvation of the people of Takk'ona lied on the other side. Someone had to find out which it was. Takk'pan pulled his spear to his hand with a stream of sand, then began to walk north resolutely. His tribe would miss the Dunecaster, but not Takk'pan himself.   -Excerpt from Crimson Sand
Takk'pan (or Singer of Sand in the Takk'onan Old Words), was a Takk'onan warrior and sand conduit, famed for slaying Takk, the corrupted facet of the earth. As the new embodiment of the facet of earth, he leads his people in the defense of their homeland against the Elistandians.

History

(Note: much of the story here is subject to change, this is from a rough draft of something I wrote for this a while ago. I will be going back to this soon to clear up much of the convolution (which there is a lot of) and more closely align the story with my new vision for the world)   Takk'pan was born into the Nar'rah tribe, also known as the Chanters of War. As a sand conduit, he was one of the tribe's most adept warriors. As the first corruption seeped from the beneath earth in the desert, Takk'pan ventured out of their homeland, over the Northern Mountains of Takk'ona where two tribes had dissapeared to find hope for his people.   On his journey he met a conduit of fire named Syra and a Takk'ara, a snakelike snetient species, named Sythelethys, who traveled with him across the mountains.   On the other side, the three met the two missing tribes living in an oasis with the physical embodiment of Takk himself. After uncovering that Takk was the source of the corruption in the desert to the south, they attempt to kill him. In the fight, Syra is uncovered to be the facet of fire, a piece of the sun god Ka. Takk'pan manages to slay the facet, and in a brief moment after the death of the first facet, the world fell in to turmoil in an event known as The Shattering. Takk'pan managed to embody the facet, becoming the new facet of the earth.

After the Shattering

Takk'pan did not want to make the same mistakes as the one he had just slew, so he instead became a leader, a beacon of hope for all his people. As the empire of Elistand was reborn, he united the tribes of Takk'ona in an attempt to reclaim his ancestral homeland.
